INTRODUCTION

Performance Labs are different, fun, energising and inspiring and created from a mix of exercises, games and interactive experiences

Performance Labs are different, fun, energising and inspiring and created from a mix of exercises, games and interactive experiences. Our approach is simple; participants will be on their feet, actively involved experimenting with new behaviours and skillsets and learning together. These are analysed to create meaningful change and development. By utilising the latest techniques and strategies from performance psychology, improvisation, corporate coaching and sports technology and by stimulating and nurturing the right mind-set teams can flow into the “zone of peak performance”.

The Lab is the place to

  • Step out of your comfort zone
  • Try something new
  • Analyse the results
  • Use the results to gain insights you can use back in the real world
STAGE1

PREPARATION

“Create a safe space to experiment”

Stage one is where we build a safe space creating trust and support for people and moving them into the right place to collaborate and build.

“Create a safe space to experiment”

Stage one is where we build a safe space creating trust and support for people and moving them into the right place to collaborate and build. Whilst many will be excited by the prospect of experiential learning others may be anxious or resistant. Fundamental to experimentation is some things will not work – so you need to be able to fail fast and start again. In this stage we will demonstrate how and why our methodology works and dispel any fears of this unique way of training.

The warm up will progress through a series of different exercises, emotions and experiences. You will have some fun and you will step into a learning centred state. You will learn foundational skills, quietening your mind and fully focusing in the moment. Activities and conversations will build a sense of playful engagement and create an atmosphere of trust and flow, setting the ground work for breaking conditioning and ready to step out of the comfort zone. At the end of this stage focus will have changed from looking good to getting better and a growth mind-set.

ASSESSMENT & EXPERIMENTION

“Time to put the team under the microscope!”

This is where things get really interesting as we bring in challenges based on your brief to see the team in action.

“Time to put the team under the microscope!”

We have established safety, connection and a desire to improve. This is where things get really interesting as we bring in challenges based on your brief to see the team in action. Through a mix of conversations and activities we assess the individuals and team, identifying the strengths and weaknesses before introducing exercises and tasks to test and develop the team. Setting the correct level of challenge is essential to maintain engagement – as is mixing in a degree of fun. Energised focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process are the ingredients for a flow state which is the optimum for training.

OBJECTIVES

  • Establish the explore the themes of the session
  • Build a framework for the experiments
  • Set the appropriate level of challenge to test existing skills and explore new ones.
  • Identify behaviour at the individual and team level
  • To learn through observation and experimentation creating a virtuous circle of development

RESULTS (TAKEAWAYS) DIAGNOSIS

“So how did you perform? How can you improve?”

What are the learnings and lessons we can apply to your real world behaviour?

“So how did you perform? How can you improve?”

What are the learnings and lessons we can apply to your real world behaviour?
We will facilitate the process of taking results from stage 2 and guiding towards further development and goals and helping you decide next steps.
Often it is small changes that make the difference and can give the mental edge. The attention to detail in stage two is crucial here to establish the milestones and whether they are being hit, and if not why not?

OBJECTIVES

  • Feedback on what works and what doesn’t
  • Create opportunities to put new behaviour into practice
  • Holding each other to account
  • Pick up on anyone who needs more help or extra coaching.
  • Reflect on the end points and goals / Questionnaires
  • Set new targets
